mail:sergeykunaev@yandex.ru Sergey Kunaev graduated from the Russian Academy of music by Gnesiny in Moscow in 1990. He was employed at the Academy Opera Studio where he performed Herman in TchaikovskyТs Queen of Spades (30 performances) and Turiddu in MascagniТs Cavalleria Rusticana. The artist sang GounodТs Faust at the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory. In 1993 he performed Jose in Carmen at the Concert ЦHall by Tchaikovsky. In 1993Ц1995 he was the soloist of the Stanislavskiy & NemirovichЦDanchenko Musical Theatre where he sang title parts in VerdiТs Ernani and in TchaikovskyТs Iolanta. Since 1995 S.Kunaev was the soloist of the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre where he performed Edgardo in DonizettiТs Lucia di Lammermour, Riccardo in Un Ballo in Maschera, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Vodemon in Iolanta, Alfred in Traviata, Radames in Aida. Sergey Kunaev collaborated on tour performing with the theatres: Theаtre des Champs Elisee in Paris, Edinburg festival, the Grand Theatre in Geneva,the Korum Theatre in Montpelier, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Semperoper in Dresden, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Teatro Alla Scala Milano,Deutsche Opera . Also he performed at such concert halls as: Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome, Milano Conservatory, the Consertgebouw, Amsterdam, the Rotterdam Philharmony, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, at the Koln Philharmony, at the Danish Radio in Copenhagen etc. Many of his performances were broadcasted. 26.04.94-Laureado of international competition Julian Gayarre in Spain, President of Jose Carreras. 20.08.97 Diploma holder of international competition of singers The Queen Sonja in Oslo, Norway. 6.09.97 Diploma holder of II international competition of singers Leyla Gencer in Istanbul as part of the jury-Leyla Gencer, Luca Targetti, Gianni Tangucci. The first tour of the artist was in 1995. It was the role of Faust in La Damnation de Faust of Berlioz at the Accademia Santa Cecilia, Roma cond. Valeriy Gergiev. After his first successes he performed with Mariinsky Theatre not once in VediТs Requiem at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Utrecht, in Sadko at the Edinburg Festival, Faust in La Damnation de Faust at the Rotterdam Philharmony. Sergey Kunaev performed with famous conductors: Riccardo Muti, Yuri Temirkanov, Vladimir Fedoseev, Michail Jurovsky, Vladimir Jurovsky, James Conlon, Massimo Zanetti,Marco Guidarini, Emanuel Villaum, Semyon Bychkov ,Ciril Petrenko,Oleg Caetani. Since 1995 S. Kunaev has toured a lot around Europe theatres where he performed the role of Paolo in RachmaninovТs Francesca da Rimini at the Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris with the Radio- France Orchestra. In February 1996 he covered the part of Alexey in ProkofievТs The Gambler in production of Teatro Alla Scala (cond. Valery Gergiev). February, 1996 he sang in StravinskyТs Svadebka (Milan Philharmonic Orchestra and Teatro Alla Scala Choir, cond. Gabbiani) In April, 1996 he performed the role of Dimitry in MussorgskyТs Boris Godunov at the Opera of Montpellier, France (cond. F.Layer). In November 1996 he sang the role of Turiddu in MascagniТs Cavalleria Ructicana at the Grand Opera in Geneva, Switzerland. In March 1997 he sang ScriabinТs Simphony No.1 at the Milan Conservatory and at the Ravenna Festival under Riccardo Muti. In January 1998 the artist sang Cavaradossi in PucciniТs Tosca in Metz, France. In March 1998 he sang the part of Albert in RachmaninovТs Miserly Knight at La Fenice, Venice. In May 1998 the artist sang the title role in VerdiТs Don Carlo (6 perf.) at the Opera Royal de Wallonie, Leige. In September of 1998 he sang the role of Vodemon in TchaikovskyСs Iolanta in Bern, Switzerland (cond. Dmitry Kitaenko; 6 performances). In November 1998 he sang Pollione in BelliniТs Norma (6 perf.) at the Baltimor Opera, USA. In March 1999 he sang the part of Duca in VerdiТs Rigoletto in Avignon, France (cond. Marco Guadarini). In May 1999, the artist sang the role of Pinkerton in PucciniТs Madama Butterfly at the Opera Theatre Sant-Gallen, Switzerland. In the season 1999-2001 he sang as a guest artist at some theatres: at Semperoper in Dresden, Germany the part of Sergey in ShostakovichТs Lady Macbeth of Mzensk (cond. Semyon Bychkov; 20 perf.) and the role of Riccardo in VerdiТs Un Ballo in Maschera (conductors: Massimo Zanetti, Stefan Soltesz, Oleg Caetani - 15 perf.). In December 2000 S.Kunaev performed Sergey in concert performance of Lady Macbeth of Mzensk at the Koln Philharmony with Semyon Bychkov. In the season 2001-2002 he sang the part of Sergey in Lady Macbeth of Mzensk at the National Theatre in Prague. In November he sang Radames in VerdiТs Aida (10 perf.) and Lensky in Eugeny Onegin (12perf.) at the Malmo Theatre, Sweden, also he took part in Requiem Verdi . In the season 2001Ц2003 S.Kunaev took part Radames in the jubilee project of Franco Zeffirelli and Carlo Bergonzi dedicated to the memory of Giuseppe Verdi. He performed Radames in the new production of Aida at the theatres of Busseto, Ravenna,Teatro Streller in Milan, in Rome, Catandzaro, Napoli, Firenze and other cities of Italy(35 performances) In March 2001 the artist sang the role of Vodemon in Tchaikovsky Iolanta at the Accademia Santa Cecilia, Rome (cond. Yuri Temirkanov). In May 2001 S. Kunaev sang the part of Levko in the Rimsky-KorsakovТs May Night at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Italy. In November 2001 the artist sang the part of Vodemon in Iolanta at the Danish Radio in Copenhagen and the same part at the Teatro Alla Scala in June-July 2002 under Yuri Temirkanov. In October 2002 he performed Radames in VerdiТs Aida at the Hannover Staatsoper, Germany. March 2003 he will perform the part of Jose in opera Carmen in Denmark: Copenhagen, Aalborg, Aarhus, in Switzerland: Lausanne, Zurich May 2003 Radames in Aida in Napoli, June in Rome July, Florence September.
